Hello, and a warm welcome to the website of
Spondon Methodist Church.

We are proud of the community of Spondon and to play a part in the life of this village, just as generations before us have. Find out more about our church on the other pages.

Better still, why not come and join us in our regular Sunday acts of worship or other church activities. The congregation is made up of, and also welcomes, people of all ages and backgrounds. It is fully accessible for people with disabilities and there is a system to help those with hearing difficulties.

After our services people stay and chat over a cup of tea or coffee. In keeping with our beliefs of helping those less fortunate we serve Fairtrade products.

The church is a landmark building, situated at the junction of the A52 and Lodge Lane North. Indeed many people tell strangers visiting Spondon to turn off the A52 when they see the church on the corner.

The building actually started serving the people of Spondon in 1934, years before the A52 (formerly known as the Borrowash bypass) was laid as part of the route between Derby and Nottingham. Further up the hill is the parish church of St Werburgh, which is centuries older. Though different, both churches are a testament to God’s love for the world, it’s people and the village of Spondon here in the city of Derby.

Serving, Caring, Praying for you.
